Much in the same way that so-called modern society accidentally unearths the obscured and damaged remains of its ancient progenitors, here's “Cultivating Throne of Fur,” the inaugural recording from Herxheim. This demo of Mephistic death metal is spiritually inspired by its own ancestors in old Abruptum, “Dawn of Satan’s Millennium”-era Beherit, demo-era Mordor, Order From Chaos, Treblinka, and Sodom’s “Obsessed by Cruelty.” Consisting of four full death knells, all of which are commingled among shorter instrumental and ambient interludes, “Cultivating Throne of Fur” offers a cryptic reveal of Herxheim’s unconventional strain of death metal.
