Tyrant has been formed from the ashes of The Black and Vinterland, and the band´s purpose was to bring things back to the roots of what extreme metal was supposed to be in the first place: Dark. Ugly. Raw. Hateful. Tyrant have adopted all these elements in an admirable way into their sound – sounding sinfully filthy, raw, dark and pleasingly punky – and yes, old school. Tyrant sounds like a band that have tried their very best to avoid sounding updated or modern – and that task they have very well accomplished, too. Celtic Frost? Yes. Venom? Of course! You get the picture and it's absolutely awesome!
