Angel Dust are another late 80's German speed metal band that were toiling around at the time along with others like Exumer, and in 1986 they released their debut Into The Dark Past. As far as this album is concerned, it's a cornerstone thrash metal classic. From the opening cut I'll Come Back, we hear some awesome powerful but highly memorable riffs. It's a forceful rocker with some nice muscular production, not too clean not too raw either. Angel Dust is a tight force to be reckon with on this album, a well oiled machine that sounds like they could give bands like Anthrax or Metallica a run for their money. But of course with many an underground metal band they were destined to remain in the background. For 80s metal this one is up there as far as rare gems goes, if you worn out your Anthrax, Testament, Exodus or Death Angel albums and want something new, seek this one out.
