Formed in 1994, Waco Jesus has long been hailed as one of the sickest, filthiest extreme bands to grace the metal world. Sex, Drugs and Death Metal is the band’s fourth and most accomplished album to date. The band has progressed from their raw and sloppy days to a point where they are capable of pulling off some pounding death metal that has its moments of grind madness but also has more than its share of catchy grooves and some well thought out breaks. The music on the whole is a straight progression from their last album, Receptive When Beaten with the band focusing on a Suffocation gone grind jamming in Slayer’s car park type of sound. The songs are all heavy as fuck and most of them have a catchy groove happening that is pretty cool.
