Japan import (B.T.H. Records), CD with OBI strip, sealed. Originally released in 1991 on Howling Bull Records, this criminally overlooked debut album by Tokyo's LAWSHED is a great example of the Japanese underground thrash metal scene at the turn of the decade! Formed in 1988, these guys delivered a powerful blend of Bay Area-inspired thrash in the vein of EXODUS and early TESTAMENT, combined with the raw aggression and distinctive character of Japanese contemporaries such as OUTRAGE, SHELLSHOCK and UNITED. Razor-sharp crunchy riffs, frantic drumming, intricate arrangements, unexpected tempo changes, wild vocals and plenty of memorable guitar work make this album a real treat for old-school thrash maniacs. Tracks like "Go It Blind", "The Worst Disease" and "Don't Urge Disorder" perfectly showcase their ability to combine relentless speed with technical precision and inventive songwriting, without losing any of the genre's original intensity. A seriously underrated gem from Japan's early '90s thrash underground, finally brought back to light in this 2023 CD reissue on B.T.H. Records, expanded with the band's complete 4-track 1989 demo as bonus material. 13 tracks in total! Highly recommended to collectors of obscure Japanese metal and fans of classic '80s/early '90s thrash!
