RAGING PORTLAND HARDCORE/PUNK IN THE FINEST POISON IDEA TRADITION – 12 TRACKS OF PURE AMERICAN HARDCORE FURY!! Originally released in 2014/2015, "Meditations On Self Destruction" is the explosive second full-length by Portland's LONG KNIFE, one of the most ferocious contemporary HARDCORE/PUNK bands to emerge from the Pacific Northwest! 12 killer tracks of savage, high-speed HARDCORE deeply rooted in the classic early '80s American tradition, with an unmistakable POISON IDEA influence mixed with the raw aggression of Japanese HARDCORE and old-school British PUNK! Furious drumming, razor-sharp guitar riffs, powerful bass lines and Colin's vicious, snarling vocals collide in an absolutely frantic mixture of speed, heaviness and memorable songwriting. Combining the reckless intensity of classic Portland hardcore with an almost ROCK'N'ROLL-driven sense of groove, LONG KNIFE deliver a vicious succession of cynical, nihilistic and alcohol-fueled punk anthems! From the furious "Exile" and "Dressing Up A Drunk" to the crushing "Sharpened Bone" and "Fatal Season", this album captures the band at its most explosive and unpredictable. A mandatory slab of contemporary AMERICAN HARDCORE for fans of POISON IDEA, NEGATIVE APPROACH, early '80s USHC and the wildest side of Japanese HARDCORE/PUNK!
