Through the vision of AsO, Stockholm-based project Flagellated Seraph comes alive with the album Beyond Salvation. This gospel is best described as black metal darkness illuminated by the light of suffering and death, featuring some long, epic hymns in the vein of Funeral Mist, Craft or Watain. The album was mixed and mastered by Magnus Devo Andersson in Endarker (Marduk, Ofermod , Nefandus , IXXI , etc.). Beyond Salvation is certainly a well-crafted masterpiece from a band that has emerged out of nowhere, with each of the songs on the album being written and executed like veterans of the genre. The depressive and melancholic elements that the band has included as well make for an even more emotional journey, allowing for all forms of negative emotions in the listener to be vented and released. Essential stuff for all Swedish BM maniacs!
