In 1994 Hybernoid released their crowning glory, "The Last Day Begins?" . It became a big hit on the huge underground music scene at the time. In the UK mainstream media, to their embarrassment it was mostly ignored, but it received massive worldwide acclaim and was featured in hundreds of fanzines, magazines, with interviews and tapes traded all over the world.. This gave the band a big global following and as such it was released many times, in multiple formats on different labels. Planned in 1989 but reality in 1991, Hybernoid were inspired by the local barren landscapes of rural Lancashire. They quickly became part of the huge underground scene of the day and a big player in the death doom scene with their nihilistic lyrics, scathing guitar and barked twin male and female guttural vocals. The post punk scene of 4AD would also contribute to the overall sound.
