Fan club press. The only studio album by controversial and highly influential punk band the Germs, (GI) is often considered to be one of the first hardcore punk albums, if not the first. Produced by Joan Jett, the album was an eventual critical success and commercial failure, bringing still more notoriety and heaps more respect to the band then best known for their outrageous, unlistenable live shows. Within a year lead singer and songwriter Darby Crash would be dead, but the legacy of this album lived on through the ?80s and beyond. This is one of those albums that need to be listened to by everybody.
