Recorded between 2017 and 2020, the album was postponed multiple times - hence the early BeBu catalog number - and only assembled and finalized several years later. Musically, Ethnic Militias explores the full range of the project’s output at this stage: structured power electronics and industrial tracks with rhythm and vocals sit alongside minimalist and free-form electronic pieces, covering a broad and eclectic spectrum. The thematic focus warrants a clear warning: depictions of tribal warfare and violent practices drawn from 20th-century African indigenous societies.
